Mountain carting at Spitzingsee is a hit with anyone who finds lying on the beach too boring and pedalling uphill on a bike too tiring.
The season usually starts in mid-May and ends in October. Weather permitting.
The Stümpfling 4-seater chairlift takes you comfortably up the mountain. The mountain cart hire station is located right next to the top station.
Of course, it’s also possible to walk up to the mountain cart starting point. Feel free to take a look at our hiking leaflet (trails 6 and 7).
Mountaincarts can be booked for groups of 10 or more for corporate events, group outings or club events.

A sense of driving confidence
With the Mountaincarts – a sort of go-kart for the mountains – you can enjoy a thrilling 3.5 km downhill ride from the top station of the Stümpfling 4-seater chairlift.
Naturally, the focus is not only on fun but also on safety. The Mountaincarts, manufactured in Bad Aibling, Upper Bavaria, are constructed from robust yet lightweight aluminium. The low centre of gravity and wide wheelbase ensure excellent driving stability. The modern design ensures a comfortable ride. The most important feature, however, is the unique dual-circuit hydraulic disc braking system, which offers excellent control over the cart at all times and operates extremely smoothly.
